Hannover 96 has appointed Jonas Boldt as the new Sports Managing Director. The 44-year-old signed a contract valid until May 31, 2029. The club announced the decision on Thursday after narrowly missing out on a return to the Bundesliga last season. Boldt succeeds Jörg Schmadtke, who left after just three months in March 2023. Prior to this, managing director Henning Bindzus and sporting director Ralf Becker had taken over the responsibilities on an interim basis. Boldt brings extensive experience, having worked in various roles at Bayer Leverkusen from 2007 to 2019 and then serving as sporting director at Hamburger SV until 2024. Ralf Nestler, the chairman of the supervisory board, expressed confidence that Boldt's modern mindset would fit well with Hannover 96. Boldt himself stated that the discussions were open and trustworthy from the start, and he looks forward to quickly getting to know the club.
