Peter from Lower Saxony has been fighting ALS for 1.5 years. His greatest wish was to watch Hannover 96 live in the stadium again. Thanks to the ASB-Wünschewagen, his wish came true. Peter from Lower Saxony wants to see Hannover 96 one last time. As the ASB-Wünschewagen reports on Facebook, the first tears are already flowing before it even starts. When the volunteer wish-granters Tanja and Nadine stop in front of Peter and his wife Manuela's house in Aerzen, it becomes clear to the two: This day will really happen. After many difficult months, it's finally here – the day when Peter's big wish to watch Hannover 96 live again comes true. No wonder the Lower Saxon's joy is huge. Finally, something nice is happening again. As the ASB-Wünschewagenablo reports, Peter and his wife were mainly relieved. Finally, something positive is happening in their lives. For one day, the disease should not be in the spotlight. Together with Peter's longtime friend Heiko, the group sets off for Hannover. In the Wünschewagen, football songs are playing, the atmosphere is lively. But before it goes into the stadium, there's still a stop on the program. Between the Courtyard Hotel and the Sprengel Museum at the Maschsee, there's the favorite spot of Peter and his wife. From there, the two look out over the water. Here, the two have already spent many hours together. Even on this day, the ritual is maintained: With a small glass of champagne, they toast, enjoy the moment, laugh, talk – and suppress tears again and again. Hannover 96 creates goosebump moments. Then comes the big highlight. In the stadium, special seats are already waiting for the travel group. Hannover 96 has organized the tickets and made for an unforgettable afternoon. Peter can hardly contain his joy. Before his illness, sport was his life. He played football himself, worked as a referee, and ran marathons. Since the outbreak of ALS about a year and a half ago, his life has changed dramatically. Today, he is dependent on oxygen and support around the clock. All the more he enjoys every single moment in the stadium. A stewardess takes care of the group according to the Wünschewagen, and even organizes a Hannover 96 mascot for the fan. Even if Hannover 96 ultimately misses the relegation, Peter is happy. The real victory is already waiting after the return. When the Wünschewagen returns to Aerzen, the family is surprised by a large number of neighbors. Together, they welcome Peter with the anthem of Hannover 96. A moment that no one expected. Tears flow again. This time, they are tears of joy. And for a moment, the serious illness seems far away.
